Home Education Support:
Elective home education is when a child's parents/guardians choose to provide their education in some way other than sending them to school full-time. This may mean providing full-time education for the child at home, flexi-schooling with a mixture of part-time school learning and part-time home learning, or combining one of these options with the support of private tuition.

The United Kingdom government has written the following guidance for parents who are either educating at home, or else are considering doing so:

Core Learning Packages:
What Are They?
Our home education Core Learning Packages are designed to provide personalised maths and/or English resources on a weekly basis, for year 3 to GCSE level learning. Where possible, we recommend combining this with weekly private tuition to unlock sticking points, feedback on tasks, and introduce concepts for the week ahead.
How Do They Work?
Each session will include a combination of written information, instructional/feedback videos and independent activities - we will review these tasks to help adapt future learning. We will provide the resources needed to complete five learning sessions per week, each lasting around one hour.

What Do They Cost?
The weekly resource planning, preparation and marking included in our packages costs just £20 per subject (that’s only £4 per hour). Individual private tuition costs an additional £25 per hour.
Tutoring slots are currently very limited!

The following group sessions have been designed specifically for home educated learners and are currently available to book:

English Group for Home Educated Learners

We may be running other group sessions which are appropriate for your child. To view all of our available group sessions, visit the Private Tutoring page of this website. Here you will also find information about individual tutoring.
Alternative Education Programme:
We are currently developing a few options for a more substantial programme to assist those who educate at home (or are considering doing so) but cannot themselves provide the academic support (or time) needed to do so.
Due to time constraints, we will only be able to run a maximum of one alternative education programme. The following 'prospective programmes' are currently under consideration, we are now looking to gauge interest in these courses and determine the viability of each option. Please note that, if we do decide to run one of these programmes, the exact arrangements noted are subject to change as the course develops.

Prospective Programme 1:

Full-time for Key Stage 2
Key Features
Appropriate For: Years 3 to 6
Maximum Group Size: 4 students
Days: Mon-Fri (term time)
Timings: 9am - 3pm (TBC)

Unfortunately, due to legal technicalities, this programme would not be available to 'pupils with an EHC plan or a statement of special educational needs or who is “looked after” by a local authority'.

The Idea

Children undertaking this programme would receive a full and broad education, designed to encompass the best elements of the national curriculum without being confined to it.

With a maximum class size of four, each student would benefit from a personalised learning experience. Such a bespoke programme enables every child to be supported in addressing areas of weakness, creating strong foundations for their learning. They would also be encouraged to delve deeper into their strengths and interests, learning without limits to develop areas of individual excellence.

Prospective Programme 2:

Part-time for GCSE (KS4)
Key Features
Appropriate For: Years 10 to 11
Maximum Group Size: 10 students
Days: Mon-Fri (term time)
Timings: 12 - 3pm (TBC)

Please note that, whilst the current plan would be for this programme to run as a 15 hour working week, this may need to be adjusted based on the final content and outcome of the 'Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill'.

The Idea

This two-year rolling programme would support students to gain valuable level 2 (GCSE) qualifications which would open up their options in later life - dependent on timings, the intention of this programme would be to provide access to five GCSEs, which is often the minimum requirement for level 3 courses.

This programme would act as a supplement to elective home education. Taking up only half of the standard school week, participants would be left with plenty of time to pursue other interests (sports, music, arts, etc.), complete work experience, or even self-study for additional qualifications.
